Some of my creative energy pours into different
genres.
My first book (unpublished) is titled Bloomingdale's
Scandal: The Murder of Harvey Keith.
When a murderer goes to prison, society breathes a sigh of relief. Conviction brings a measure of peace to the wronged parties. It comforts people to know that our world is a little less dangerous for putting a bad man behind bars.
But what if the man is innocent?
Go back 125 years to small town America. Get to know the Barker brothers, those two poor laborers accused of killing Harvey Keith. Decide for yourself if they are callous murderers, if they deserve to go to prison. And remind yourself of the timeless dangers of a system run mad.
Or are you more interested in the paranormal? I am querying agents for my latest effort, Autobiography of the Demon. It is the story of the Bell Witch of Tennessee from another point of view. Demons are rather interesting beings, but I wouldn't invite one for dinner. The companion piece, so far unfinished and untitled, features a guardian angel.

I started with a plot and edited until Merlin's magic found a home in the Regency. When the Banshee Brigade wandered into the room, I kept finding more and more silly things for them to do.
So it turned into a series.
The latest is a keeper, if I can be forgiven for a pun.
Someone, somewhere, loves bossy women. Sir Sloane Johnstone, Keeper of the Grail. runs circles around the Banshee Brigade and grapples with a challenger to his title, all the time keeping a weather eye out for Sarah Frampton's missing Fra Angelico painting. The picture above is one cover concept -- cross your fingers that the book finds a home.
The published books in the series are:
Whimsical Adrian Hughes stumbles over holes and Margaret Treadway's far from perfect marriage in Thwarting Magic.
Round Table Magician sees the privacy loving Lord Brinston doing his damndest to keep Lady Martha in her place.
To His Mistress. Alexander, Earl of Shelton, is perhaps the most stubborn man alive -- so muleheaded that he is going to divorce Katherine if it is the last thing he does. Then he can make her his mistress.
And currently being plotted:
A little boy thinks there are monsters under his bed. It takes a special man to chase the fear away -- and save a damsel from a dragon. It is too short to be a full length novel, so wait and see what my imagination dreams up.
The Banshee Brigade parades through every book.
